Thanx Tiger I got the buttons file!
I see there is quite a large number of new PRS files referenced. I suppose you made "patch" prs files to make compatibility with the HSFX/UP/SAS SFS sound prs names. I think it was like this when we did a long ago betatest for UV2 in SFS I think I recall.
I will download this next week when I get new CAP. I look forwards to it!
Just in the meantime I though of perhaps doing some quick FM comparisons to see if I can make SAS buttons more compatible, but I had to give up!
'It is just too much. I found about 607 FM files in the mod's buttons, about a dosen of those are old redundant SAS fms we dont have in buttons anymore. There is also at least 4 that are in our current buttons but not yet in this one.
But the real problem was that I found roughly 272 FMs that were different. A lot of them are just small syntax differences, but still about a third of those were significantly different. Some of the ones with smaller diffs I remember as older versions long since replaced. Some are just way different. I think in 80% of the cases the FMs in this mods buttons are just older versions. I am not sying it is wrong, you guys go your own route and timing with FM's, but SAS buttons it is unfortunately not, and also not the same as HSFX.I also ran if quickly against UP2.0 and also found about 260 diff FMs. (funny enough, the FMs you have for the new aaa P51s and the Fw190A3s are neither the HSFX nor the UP20 ones!
lol, classic! )
I dont have any problems with this at all, I just want to be sure that guys who use this mod and this buttons and who asked about compatibility know that, I think that probably the sounds will all work out, but FM wise, they are not the same and not compatibile for online play with HSFX or UP.
Offline players of course it is not so big a deal, but those should please direct Buttons enquiries to Tiger or to C6 (I think?), and not make sure you note which buttons you are using before posting bug reports.
PS, Philip, buttons size has nothing to do with loss of sound. Our buttons file has in fact over the last few versions grown smaller, due to better file management.
I dont know though what sort of compatibility Tiger did with UI though.
